It all started with the Magistera. During the Corona period, I started working on an artistic project. The goal: 500 hand wands made from different types of wood.

The Magistera Vitae (Latin for: Textbooks of life; here: Power/teachers of life) are magic wands with a different kind of magic; they are symbols of the strength that makes dreams come true in one’s own life.
After magic as an irrational assumption of power comes a reflection on one’s own strength, one’s own history as a biography and what is really possible within it. The staff reminds you of your plans, goals, wishes and dreams, both past ones and those that still need to be fulfilled because the path has not yet been traveled. It represents the love of life and also the will and courage to achieve it. The staff is held in the hand and points in one direction. There it creates space for the imagination of possible futures.
As Magistera Vitae, it points to the turning points that make you an artifex vitae, a master of your own life! The magic lies solely in the love for your life (amor vitae) as a story and a moment and for everything that surrounds you. The magistera vitae can be a metaphor for the question of whether you are still on course with what you want from life and what is important to you.

Language likes to describe abstract objects with figurative expressions. Beyond esotericism, in the sense intended here, the “magic wand” should be an object that requires no language to symbolize this small moment in which our lives occur and are decided – the present. The Magistera Vitae are thus to be understood as the objectification of the moment – and to be touched concretely. With this thought in hand, the future becomes tangible and spiritually affordable in the present.
